Starlighter's Performing Arts Center is dedicated to bringing a love for the arts into our area!  We now have not only dance classes, but  art classes (drawing and painting) as well!  We strive to bring fresh, energetic, and enjoyable lessons to all ages and interest levels.  Our quality instructors, caring staff, and many helpers make our Center a place that you will be glad to spend your time in.  We have some of the best choreography, 'clean' lyrics and quality dance costumes in the industry.  You will be proud to wear your STARLIGHTER'S PERFORMING ARTS CENTER T shirt wherever you go!

Our Instructors and Staff

Laura Hawkins

Laura Hawkins is the founder and proprietor of Starlighter's Performing Arts Center (formerly Starlighter's School of Dance) . She has studied ballet since she was age five, as well as tap, jazz, and musical theater. She has worked professionally in commercials as well as on stage in Branson. She has owned Starlighters School of Dance since 2001.






Hayley Reeder


Hayley Reeder started dancing at the age of 6. She began training under the instruction of Debbie Clause in Tap, Jazz, and the Cecchetti system of Ballet. She also studied at Springfield Ballet, Credo Dance Academy, and Starlighter’s Performing Arts Studio. She has won various awards in competitions with her clogging, hip-hop, tap solos, and duets. Hayley enjoys all sorts of dance styles and choreography.   Hayley has studied extensively with Miss Laura at Starlighter’s!  When not actively involved in dance, you can find her composing/playing piano pieces, acting, singing, or skateboarding. She is attending OTC.





Courtney Stovall

Courtney Stovall has been involved in the performing arts for about nine years. Five of these years have been with Starlighter's Other years have ranged from cheerleading, colorguard, and gymnastics. She has experience in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, and Ballroom dancing. Courtney currently works at Foxgrape Family Dentistry as well as teaching dance at Starlighter's. One of her major goals is to broaden the technique and knowledge of dancing, while pouring her passion for it onto her students.






Christina Martinez

Christina was born in Texas on October 6, 1988 and moved to Missouri when she was about three years old. Art and music are her passion. She has been playing piano since she was three years old and she has artwork hanging up at the Highlandville Elementary school library from when she was in the fourth grade. Nixa High School is where she earned her high school diploma with honors. She earned her Associate of Arts degree at Ozarks Technical Community College and now looks forward to earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Education for Art Teaching at Missouri State University. Three of her artworks were displayed in the First Friday Art Walk downtown in May 2013 and she looks forward to participating in more art shows in the future. Her future goals include: joining the Creamery Arts Center in Springfield to become better acquainted with other local artists and volunteering at the Forest Institute of Psychology to provide learning therapy to children with disabilities. She is excited to be Starlighter’s Art Teacher and hopes to bring happiness to those who take her classes.


Molly Haslag

Molly Haslag is from Jefferson City, Missouri where she began studying dance at the age of three. She has received training in ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hiphop, and various modern techniques at Dancers' Alley in Jefferson City, several studios in Springfield, and through summer intensives with Stephens College and the Tulsa Ballet. She is currently a double major pursuing degrees in both dance and social work at Missouri State University. Molly has been teaching dance since she was 12, and this is her first year teaching at Starlighter's!





Beth Burton

Beth is from Springfield and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Missouri State University.  She worked for many years as an award winning designer for Sweetheart Cup.  Her art has been featured in full page layouts four times in the national art magazine Somerset Studios.  Her work as a coach for Odyssey of the Mind, helping students to become creative out of the box thinkers, was rewarded with taking her middle school and high school teams multiple times to the World Finals.  Beth has shown and sold her artwork at Fresh Gallery,The Creamery and Waverly House.  Beth has a great passion for art and cannot imagine a life without art.  Now Beth is using her amazing talent to teach art (drawing and/or painting) to ages 3 through adult here at Starlighter’s!
